Hey all, I have a 69 Satellite that my dad and I are restoring. We can get a low milage, 5.7 Hemi (2006 or 2005 i believe) and a Manual tranny out of a crashed truck for about 2500-3K, so were thinking about doing that and building the motor to about 500Hp. The Plymouth is set up for a 440/727 right now, so what would be needed to do the swap? How much extra work would all the fabbing and computer tuning be? BTW we would just do the 440 and 727 but it would cost about 5 grand to get it all back together and running properly at about 500HP.

Since no one else seems to answering, I'll give it a shot. I've never attempted a swap and my (limited) knowledge is biased toward the 69 Roadrunner, so bear that in mind.
From what I've seen, there are kits available to take care of the engine mounts and engine harness. None of that stuff is cheap though. You also will have to convert to the "drive by wire" throttle and deal with exhaust. The transmission will have it's own set of issues and you'll have to work out converting to the hydraulic clutch.
So... IMHO, this is a great swap... but.... you have to do a lot more homework. I wouldn't figure on saving any money by using the late model engine. In fact just the opposite, I could see this being a very expensive swap if your fabrication/scrounging skills are limited.
I'm assuming that you are going to update the suspension and brakes to handle the increased horsepower. I wish you luck.

Hey All, go to the "FBBO" for B body only web site and do a search. There are several guys go similar swaps into B-body's. They have a lot of detailed photos and will answer most questions. Good luck.
